Sarah Bhatt, B.S.
Practicum/Internship Student
What do I do at CAPS?
Hi! My name is Sarah Bhatt, and I am a counseling intern here at CAPS. I walk alongside students, providing support and guidance, as they grow into lives they can feel proud of. Together, students and I collaborate to identify practical steps that will help them move forward. I work with a wide range of presenting concerns and hold a particular interest in exploring anxiety, OCD, sexuality, culture, neurodivergence, trauma, religious abuse, identity exploration, and family-of-origin concerns.
What is it like to work with me?
I have been described as personable, genuine, and grounded in positivity. I bring a blend of playfulness and empathy into every session, and it is important to me that the counseling space feels safe. I don’t adhere rigidly to one counseling theory, but I do emphasize values, collaboration, acceptance, and the power of storytelling. More than anything, I believe that authentic, compassionate relationships are just as healing as any technique or tool.
What do I do outside of CAPS?
Outside of CAPS, I’m either going on a long aimless walk, finding new recipes on Pinterest that I’ll probably never try, or making another playlist. I also love crafting with friends and playing (poorly) pickleball with my fiancé. Also, homework – I guess I do that too.
