Exploring self through DnD.

Dice and Discovery is a Therapeutic Role-Playing group focused on utilizing Dungeons and Dragons. It will be focused on clients who struggle with social anxiety. The ideal client is someone who struggles with mild to high levels of social anxiety while also having some understanding of DnD. However, this group will also be a "learn as you go" group so having DnD experience is not a requirement to be part of the group.

Explore how you attach to and seek connection with others and God.

Heartstrings is a 10-12 week counseling group designed for college students to explore the intricacies of attachment styles and their profound influence on romantic relationships as well as their connections with God. We will discuss how to identify and understand your attachment style, how it affects your romantic relationships, and how it also affects the way you view and relate to God. Through a combination of discussions, activities, and reflective exercises, participants will gain insight into their attachment patterns, learn how these patterns affect their interpersonal dynamics, and discover tools to foster healthier relationships based on awareness and faith.

Processing emotions through pencil, paint and clay.

The purpose of this group is to teach students how to process emotions non-verbally via various artistic mediums. Students will gain insight into their emotional states while examining and representing feelings without the limits of a spoken vocabulary.

Find out what OCD is, how it forms, and how it is treated.

This will be a presentation defining OCD and discussing its etiology and treatment. There may be some interaction for those willing, but it is not required.

An open grief education group.

If you’ve experienced a “living loss” such as the loss of a close relationship, a romantic breakup, feel homesick due to loss of connection with your family and home community, had a difficult change in your college or family life, expect to lose positive peer supports at the end of the semester, or any other type of meaningful living loss, or a significant loss due to the death of a loved one, this open group is for you.

A group to pursue recovery and community for men struggling with pornography. 

This weekly therapeutic process group is designed for Christian men seeking support in addressing unwanted pornography use or other problematic sexual behaviors. The group provides a confidential, faith-integrated space to explore underlying issues, build accountability, and develop healthier coping strategies through guided discussions and evidence-based practices. Participants will grow in self-awareness, spiritual resilience, and connection with others on a similar journey toward freedom and integrity.

Understanding and challenging unhealthy, self-defeating patterns.

The purpose of this group is to explore one’s individual schemas, which are unrealized beliefs about the self that affect how you relate to others and create unhealthy life patterns. We’ll be using Jeffery Young’s schema inventories to assess individual schemas, explore origins in childhood, discuss meaning, and discover how to understand and meet our needs in healthy ways. This time is dedicated to helping the group find healing through sharing, discussing biblical application, and finding freedom from self-defeating patterns.

Navigating and creating healthy relational boundaries.

The Boundary Bridge is a 7-week group for women where we will explore and learn what healthy relational boundaries are, how to set and implement them, and how to identify and establish healthier, thriving relationships with self and others.

A Biblical approach to managing our thought lives.

Winning the War In Your Mind is a psychoeducational processing group to equip LU students who are battle weary from their negative thoughts and emotions. This group is based mostly on the bestselling book, Winning The War In Your Mind, authored by Pastor Craig Groeschel. Students are educated on what the Bible teaches about our thought life and what we need to do to transform our minds to be more Christ-focused. This group presents questions for participants to personally explore, examine, and understand their own beliefs and thought patterns and to identify how these are negatively impacting our lives. Then, to implement Biblically based strategies that ultimately will result in a spiritually healthy, Christ-Centered mindset.

A group for women who want to walk away from pornography and turn toward wholeness.

Women in Process is a space for women who desire to turn away from pornography and pursue wholeness through Christ. With this space, women will have the opportunity to share their stories in a confidential and faith-integrated environment. Women in Process seeks to provide practical tools to pursue wholeness and integrity by addressing one’s heart and daily habits.
