Rachel Marchman, B.S.
Practicum/Internship Student
What do I do at CAPS?
Hi! My name is Rachel Marchman, and I am a counseling intern here at CAPS. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Georgia, and I am completing my master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with Liberty University. At CAPS, I work with students with various growth interests, but I am especially passionate about helping clients explore their experiences with anxiety, depression, body image, sexuality, religious trauma, sexual trauma, and relational trauma.
What is it like to work with me?
I value creating an environment that is tailored to my client's individual needs and goals. I recognize the uniqueness of each person who enters my office, and I strive to create a space where my clients feel free to be the most authentic version of themselves. My counseling style focuses heavily on collaboration, strengths-finding, and goal-setting. I am motivated by the desire to help my clients become the healthiest version of themselves.
What do I do outside of CAPS?
When I am not working at CAPS, I can be found on a hike with my husband or friends, on the phone catching up with long-distance family and friends, exploring a new city, or endeavoring a new hobby. Some hobbies that have kept me busy in the past couple of years are herbal healing, mycology, exploring a new national park, camping, or trying a new recipe.
