What do I do at CAPS?

Hi everyone! I am a Graduate Intern at CAPS currently pursuing my master’s degree in social work with an Individual and family clinical cognate. I previously obtained my bachelor’s degree in Zoology, but through a series of events (let’s be honest, a quarter-life crisis), I was led to the counseling field. At CAPS, I have the privilege to provide individual counseling, group counseling, case management, and intake sessions for students. I also will provide any animal facts needed… our stories, especially seemingly unrelated degrees, do not go to waste!

What is it like to work with me?

My desire is to cultivate a safe and welcoming space for students through honest and genuine conversation and occasionally some added-in humor (life is too short to not laugh). I am passionate about helping others learn to love their true selves and become proud of who they are. I desire to guide students, at their own pace, toward a path of freedom, healing, peace, and confidence. My interests include helping students through anxiety, depression, relationship dynamics, stress management, cultural changes and impact, and decision-making. I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to sit across from students, and I hope that each student walks away from my office not only with practical skills but also knowing and believing in the value they bring to this world.

What do I do outside of CAPS?

Outside of CAPS, I enjoy anything that has to do with the outdoors, watching a good movie, a long walk, and some good coffee. You can often find me out on the trails, cozy in a coffee shop listening to Adele, or snuggled up on my couch with my two cats. I also enjoy living in community with my friends and family which can range from sharing a meal, hearing each other’s stories, traveling to new places, making the occasional ice cream run (okay maybe more than occasional), having a good laugh, and sharing the ordinary daily happenings in life.
