Elizabeth Badillo Baker, M.S.
Practicum/Internship Student
What do I do at CAPS?
Hi! My name is Elizabeth Baker, and I am a clinical psychology intern here at CAPS. I earned my B.S. in Developmental Psychology and my M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Liberty University and am currently completing my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) at Liberty. At CAPS, I conduct intakes and work with students across various areas. I am especially passionate about helping individuals navigate their experiences with trauma, particularly relational or familial trauma, as well as identity, anxiety, and depression. My approach is rooted in attachment and developmental perspectives, helping individuals understand how their relationships and early experiences shape who they are and how they move through the world.
What is it like to work with me?
I believe healing happens in the context of relationships, wanting to create a space that feels safe and grounded in trust, while honoring each person’s individual as well as unique story and pace. Our work together often involves slowing down, gaining insight through reflection, meaning-making, setting realistic goals, and implementing realistic plans that incorporate practical strategies for meaningful growth.
What do I do outside of CAPS?
Outside of CAPS and graduate school, I am an avid reader and am always happy to talk about books! I also enjoy volunteering with CASA, spending time with family and friends (and my cat Mochi), knitting, going for walks, hosting game nights, and trying new matcha recipes.
