Amber Burleigh, M.Ed., QMHP
Intake Counselor
What do I do at CAPS?
I serve as an intake counselor at CAPS. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Crisis Counseling and a Master's degree in Education with a specialization in Educational Leadership. Prior to joining CAPS, I gained diverse experience in the mental health and education fields. I served as a Director of school-based mental health services for at-risk youth; taught Kindergarten at a private Christian school, and provided mental health support to the geriatric population, deepening my understanding of care across the lifespan.
What is it like to work with me?
I strive to create a welcoming space where students feel heard, valued, and respected from the very first interaction. I believe that every student's story matters, and I am committed to supporting them as they take the courageous first steps toward growth and healing.
What do I do outside of CAPS?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, three daughters, and our dog, Ellie. We love being outdoors together whether going for a walk, doing yard work, or soaking up the sunshine.
