Randi Placios, B.S.

Practicum/Internship Student

What do I do at CAPS?

I began working with Liberty Counseling and Psychological Services at the beginning of the 2023 fall semester as an intern. I’m currently a PsyD student at Liberty. I moved from Connecticut, where I lived for six years. I completed my undergraduate at the University of Connecticut in cognitive science and psychology (2021) while playing Division I soccer. During my time as an undergraduate, I orchestrated many soccer camps and volunteered to work with special needs kids within the community of Connecticut.

What is it like to work with me?

I have a heart for the misunderstood. I usually discuss the significance of the self and the impact of community on individuals. I also discuss how thoughts and feelings have an important role in a healthy lifestyle. I think there is more to people than what meets the eye. I love assisting individuals in acknowledging where they are and where they want to be.

What do I do outside of CAPS?

I have been coaching soccer on and off for seven years with all different ages. Currently, I stay fit by training for 5k’s. I recently began to enjoy rock climbing as well. Outside of Counseling and Psychological Services, I enjoy working with kids at my church. Lastly, I enjoy spending time with family; I’m a proud child of two military parents.
